Stretch Your Learning Through These Fun Programs!

Reading Link Challenge – This province-wide program for students in Grades 4 and 5 promotes the ‘sport of reading’ The program is run as a series of quiz/trivia challenges with winning teams advancing to higher levels of competition. Participating children learn about teamwork and how to read for retention. Reading Link Challenge also promotes public library usage and encourages children to develop a lifelong habit of reading for pleasure.

Heritage Fair – We want all young people to become curious about Canadian history and have a deep understanding of the present by engaging with and questioning the past. Under the tutelage of Mr. Eberding, students first choose a topic in Canadian history to explore, often a family or local story. Students create unique projects highlighting their chosen aspect of Canadian history or culture and present their project to their classmates, parents and community; often advancing to regional and provincial levels.

Mighty Mathematicians –We are all learning to become confident, capable mathematicians. Students are encouraged to take home a problem of the week; complete it with family, friends or on their own and are entered to win a special prize at monthly assemblies
